Tarn and Beyond

We guarantee that you won't be short of things to do during your stay in the Tarn!

The region is famous for its hill top "bastide" villages like Cordes-sur-Ciel (see above). Albi boasts the huge Cathedral de St Cecile and the Toulouse Lautrec museum, both built in the local red brick.

Further afield, we can recommend day trips to see Norman Foster's Viaduc de Millau or the fabulous castle at Carcassonne.

If you want to shop, Toulouse is only 50 minutes down the road or there are fantastic local markets in Gaillac (Friday) or in St Antonin Noble Val (Sunday) full of fresh fruit and vegetables from local farmers.

Lautrec Garlic

Lautrec, 20 minutes south of Gaillac, is famous for its pink garlic.

All the local markets sell neatly tied bundles for your kitchen at home!

Gaillac Wines

Gaillac is one of the oldest wine regions in France.

Late summer and early autumn is a great time to see the harvest in full swing. Most of the chateaux offer tours, wine tasting and "vente directe".
